Columbia, Mo. – The No. 23-ranked Columbia College played host to the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University tonight on Senior Night. The Cougar volleyball team honored Camryn Schear, Ellie Crede, Camila Espejo, Raven Buckley, Magdalena Bostal, and Kate Pani. Columbia swept the Hornets to improve to 20-9 on the season, while staying perfect in AMC play at 6-0.
The Cougars used multiple combinations with their lineup tonight to defeat the Hornets 25-12, 25-8, 25-16. Columbia led in kills (29-23), aces (15-4), and blocks (4-1), while HSSU led in digs (46-29).
Janae Johnson led the way with five kills and three blocks. Sude Gundogan and Danielle Prior each contributed four kills. Luisa Ferreira dished out 15 assists to go along with seven digs. Raven Buckley served six aces.
The Cougars travel to Batesville, Arkansas to take on Lyon College this Friday, October 28th, before traveling to Conway, Arkansas on Saturday to play Central Baptist College.
