Volleyball Falls in Five to Mississippi State

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou volleyball (4-21, 1-11 SEC) fell 22-25, 25-17, 25-15, 19-25, 16-14 to Mississippi State (19-5, 10-2 SEC) on Saturday. 

Freshman Kayla Burbage paced the Tigers with a career-high 17 kills. While Junior Anna Dixon produced 11 kills for the Tigers.

For Mississippi State, 15 kills came from Lauren Myrick, while Shania Cromartie and Gabby Waden produced 14 kills for the Bulldogs.

Anna Dixon: 11 kills, 9 digs

Jordan Iliff: 8 kills, 3 blocks

                                           

#MIZ Takeaways

  • Three Tigers were able to produce double-digit kills. Burbage, Dixon, and Freshman Kaylee Cox lead the attack for the Tigers.
  • Freshman Lauren Fobes dished out a team-high of 11 digs. While Cox received a total of 10 digs.
  • At the net freshman, Redshirt Junior Anna D’Cruz led the team in blocks with 5. Freshman Jordan Iliff was able to produce 3 blocks to help the Tigers. 
  • Graduate Student Nicole Alford led the team in assists with 28. Freshman Addison Lyon was able to produce 24 to keep the Tigers attack going.
