Volleyball Drops a 3-1 Decision to Mississippi State

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou volleyball (4-22, 1-12 SEC) fell 25-16, 25-27, 25-15, 25-23 to Mississippi State (20-5, 11-2 SEC) on Sunday. 

Junior Anna Dixon paced the Tigers with 14 kills while Freshman Kayla Burbage and Freshman Kaylee Cox had 11 kills apiece.

For the Bulldogs, Rebecca Walk and Lauren Myrick both contributed 14 kills.

Anna Dixon: 14 kills, 7 digs, 1 ace

Kayla Burbage: 11 kills, 1 block

Kaylee Cox 11 kills, 13 digs, 5 blocks

                                           

#MIZ Takeaways

  • Cox earned her fourth double-double this season with 11 kills and 13 digs. Freshman Lauren Forbes was also able to pick up 13 digs.
  • At the net, Redshirt Junior Anna D’Cruz was able to pick up a team-high of 6 blocks to stop the Bulldogs attack.
  • Graduate Student Nicole Alford led the team in assists with 23, while Freshman Addison Lyon dished out 20 assists on the night.

UP NEXT

Next weekend, the Tigers return to action as they travel to Athens, Ga., to take on Georgia in a two-match series.
