Volleyball Cruises to Sixth Straight Win

Hillsboro, Kan. – The Columbia College volleyball team picked up their eighth sweep of the season, defeating Tabor (Kan.) by the scores of 25-21, 25-21, and 25-17. The Cougars improve to 13-4 on the season, while the Blue Jays fall to 6-8.

Columbia has now won six straight.

Set 1: Columbia 25 | Tabor 21

The two teams were tied at 5-5 before a service ace by Sude Gundogan gave the Cougars their first lead of the set at 6-5. The Cougars continued to increase their lead, as a solo block by Danielle Prior gave Columbia the 10-6 advantage. Tabor came back at took the lead at 18-15, but three straight points by the Cougars tied the score. The Cougars use a quick 3-0 spurt to open the setup at 24-20 and giving them the 25-21 win.

Set 2: Columbia 25 | Tabor 21
The Cougars held a slight 17-15 advantage before the Blue Jays tied the set at 17 apiece. With the score tied at 19-19, Columbia scored three straight to take control of the set, 22-19. The Cougars would hold on for the 25-21 set victory.

Set 3: Columbia 25 | Tabor 17
Columbia used a critical 8-2 run in the final set to take a 17-12 lead and cruise to the set and match win.
