NCAA SB: Mizzou Tigers vs. South Carolina

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri softball (24-15, 4-7 SEC) will face off with No. 14/13 Georgia (33-8, 7-5 SEC) in a three-game series starting on Thursday, April 14.

Thursday’s contest will be available on SEC Network + at 5 p.m. to kick off the series with Katherine Kadlec and Nate Gatter on the call. Game two is set for Friday at Noon CT with Amanda Scarborough and Mark Neely calling the game on SEC Network. The duo will also call the finale on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.

SERIES HISTORY

Georgia leads the all-time series over the Tigers 12-9. The Bulldogs won two of three games in 2021, the last meeting between the two programs.

The Tigers took the first game of the series, as Jordan Weber and Emma Nichols combined to allow only one run. However, the Georgia bats exploded for 22 runs over the next two games and despite the Tigers putting up 17 of their own, the Bulldogs took the series.

CHAUTIME

Casidy Chaumont has continued to hit, even after missing six games. The outfielder has five extra base hits over the last four games. She doubled in each game of the Mississippi State series.

Chaumont leads the team in batting average (.413), slugging percentage (.738) and extra base hits (15).

THE BAILEY SHOW

Kendyll Bailey has always been a strong defensive presence for the Tigers in the field, but she has also become one of Mizzou’s most formidable hitters. She is batting .353 on the year with eight home runs and 24 RBI, all career-bests.

Bailey has reached base safely in each of the last 15 games, the longest such streak of her career. She has six multi-RBI games on the year and 11 multi-hit games, tying for second on the team in each category.

She leads the team with a .406 batting average in conference play in 2022. Over the last two seasons, Bailey is batting a combined .375 with six doubles, eight home runs and 21 RBI in SEC play.
