Three Win AMC Weekly Honors

St. Louis, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference (AMC) has announced the AMC Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 5.

AMC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Peri Welch

A freshman from Columbia, Mo., placed first at the ZK Maple Leaf Invite in her first collegiate race. In a field of 61 runners, Welch ran the 4K course in a time of 15:05.35.

AMC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Abigail Meyer, Defender

Meyer, a senior defender from St. Louis, Mo., led a defense that held (7) Central Methodist to one goal and held Grand View (Iowa) without a shot in the Cougars 2-0 win. In addition, she added an offensive threat against Grand View with two shots and one shot on goal.

AMC Volleyball Setter of the Week
Luisa Ferreira, Setter

Ferreira, a sophomore from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, averaged 9.4 assists per set, dishing out 40 against (9) Viterbo (Wis.). On the week, she added 52 digs, 11 kills, and five service aces. This is the second-straight time winning AMC Volleyball Setter of the Week.
