Tennis Comes Up Short Against Kentucky

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – University of Missouri tennis fell to No. 45 Kentucky on Friday, in a 4-1 Southeastern Conference match at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. 

Laura Masic returned after missing several matches due to injury, but it wasn’t enough to boost the Tigers, who fell to 10-9, 1-6 in SEC play. Kentucky (11-7, 3-4 SEC) won its fourth-straight match

Inah Canete picked up the Tigers’ lone point on the day thanks to her straight, set, 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 5 singles of UK’s Zoe Hammond. 

Kentucky started things off with the doubles point, earning a 6-2 win from its first pair and a 6-0 win from the second.

Mizzou returns to the courts on Sunday against Vanderbilt. The Tigers and Commodores are set for an 11 a.m. CT first serve at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
