Peat Named to Doak Walker Watch List

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri football senior Nathaniel Peat is among the 74 running backs named to the 2022 Doak Walker Award Watch List, released by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum on Wednesday.

A senior with two seasons of eligibility remaining, Peat led Stanford in 2021 with 404 rushing yards while averaging 5.1 yards per carry. The Columbia, Mo. native etched his name in the Cardinal record book with an 87-yard touchdown run against No. 14 USC, the fifth-longest rushing play in Stanford history.

On special teams, he led the Pac-12 with 663 kickoff return yards to average 24.6 yards per return in 2021. For his career, Peat has accounted for 1,822 all-purpose yards, including 662 rushing, 106 receiving and 1,054 on kick returns. Peat has twice been named an All-Pac-12 kick returner by Phil Steele (2020, 2021), a 2021 All-Pac-12 honorable mention by Pro Football Focus and a 2020 All-Pac-12 honorable mention by the league coaches.
