No. 9/19 Swim & Dive Sets Three Top Times in Second Day of Mizzou Invite

COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 9/19 Mizzou men’s and women’s swimming and diving won 10 events and set three of the nation’s top times in the second day of the Mizzou Invite on Nov. 18. Both the Mizzou men and women lead going into the final day of competition. The men sit with 927.50 points, ahead of Cal Baptist in second with 551. The women have 916.50 points, ahead of second place Nebraska with 634.

TOP TIGERS

Senior Ben Patton recorded an NCAA ‘A’ cut in the 100 breast prelim with the nation’s top time of 50.51. Senior Jack Dahlgren recorded a top time in his third event of the season with 1:33.55 in the 200 free prelim. Senior Danny Kovac set the nation’s top time in the 100 fly finals with 45.31.

“I felt absolutely great about tonight. We had a lot of really incredible races, and there’s still certainly momentum for individuals whose primary races are tomorrow. The team is still feeding off of great races. Overall, they’re still absolutely exceeding my and the staff’s expectations, and the challenges are great to see.”

UP NEXT

The Tigers finish the Mizzou Invite on Nov. 19 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Swimming prelims will start at 9:30 a.m., followed by diving prelims at noon. The final diving rounds will begin following prelims, and swimming finals will start at 5:30 p.m.
