COLUMBIA, Mo. — No. 6 ranked University of Missouri wrestling team defeated the West Virginia Mountaineers 38-3 at home Thursday, Dec. 2. The Tigers move to 2-1 this season and are 3-0 all-time against the Mountaineers.
The Tigers got off to a hot start after freshman Peyton Moore and redshirt senior Connor Brown defeated their opponents with back-to-back falls at 125 and 133, respectively, to give Mizzou an early 12-0 lead. Two consecutive major decisions from redshirt senior Allan Hart (11-1) at 141 and redshirt junior Brock Mauller (10-2) at 149 quickly put the Tigers ahead 20-0.
In a highly anticipated match against West Virginia’s No. 7 Peyton Hall, No. 1 Keegan O’Toole came out on top with a 3-0 decision at 165 pounds. Redshirt junior Peyton Mocco (10-4) won by decision at 174, while sophomore Sean Harman earned the win by forfeit at 184. Redshirt junior Zach Elam capped off the dual with a 6-3 decision at 285.

- Mizzou moves to 3-0 all-time against West Virginia since their first meet up on January 4, 2004.
- Moore earns his first dual victory of his collegiate career getting the pin at 125 pounds
- With tonight’s victory, Jacques moves to 7-0 on the year to lead the Tigers with the most wins thus far in the 2022-23 season. He is tied for the team lead with Mauller at 92 career wins.
- With the 3-0 decision, O’Toole has now won 35 consecutive bouts dating back to the 2021 NCAA Tournament
