Columbia, Mo. – The No. 13-ranked Columbia College women’s soccer team placed a trio of players on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Players selected to the First-Team All-District® Team will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

All three players – Abigail Meyer, Mallory Holzer, and Jewel Morelan – were named to the First-Team and are eligible for Academic All-America® honors.

Meyer, a defender from St. Louis, Mo., becomes a four-time CoSIDA Academic All-District First-Team honoree. Meyer has a 3.95 GPA while majoring in nursing. She played a crucial role in the Cougars’ 11 shutouts on the season, and she scored one goal and dished out three assists on the year.

Holzer, a midfielder from Weldon Springs, Mo., has a 4.0 GPA while majoring in biology. The senior has six points on the season with two goals and two assists. She is making her debut on the CoSIDA Academic All-District® team.

For the second time in her career, Morelan earned a spot on the First-Team. The American Midwest Conference Player of the Year has career highs in both goals (15) and points (36) and is one assist (6) shy of tying her career-best mark of seven. She is majoring in biology and has a 3.40 GPA.
