COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball head coach Joshua Taylor announced the addition of transfer outside hitter Brynn Carlson to the Tigers’ roster on Tuesday (May 18). Carlson played the previous four seasons at Kansas State.

“Brynn’s athleticism and ability to attack on both pins along with her playing experience will make an immediate impact in our gym,” Taylor said. “She is a great leader on and off the court and her drive and willingness to improve will be a great asset to our program.”

In 2020-21, Carlson put up 153 kills in 17 matches to average 2.73 kills per set. Her kills and kills per set marks were both second on the Wildcats squad this season. Carlson posted 20 kills in a match twice this season, once each against Texas and TCU.

For her career, Carlson has 639 kills in three-plus seasons. Carlson returned from a medical redshirt in 2018 to post her best season in 2019, piling up 309 kills for K-State and averaging 2.83 kills per set.

Carlson is also a standout off the court, earning 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. She is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, earning first team honors in 2018 and 2019.

A native of Woodbury, Minn., Carlson participated in USA Volleyball’s Junior A1 National Team Training program in 2017 and was a member of the Collegiate National Team-Anaheim roster in 2019. She earned her bachelor’s degree in dietetics, kinesiology and nutrition from K-State in 2020.
