Mizzou Takes Home Four All-SEC Awards

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou Track & Field garnered four All-SEC honors, the league office announced following the conclusion of the SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in College Station, Texas.

Headlining the honorees was freshman Mitch Weber (Saint Clair, Minn.), who received two All-SEC nods in addition to the silver medal he won in the men’s discus. Weber was awarded All-SEC Second Team for his performance at the conference meet, as well as Newcomer All-SEC, an award given to first-year athletes who had their traditional freshman year cut short or canceled due to COVID-19 shutdown.

Joining Weber on the Newcomer All-SEC list for the women is redshirt-freshman Erin Zimmerman (Malvern, Pa.), who finished seventh at the conference meet in the women’s javelin. Her mark was the highest amongst all freshman in the event.

Junior Chris Conrad (O’Fallon, Ill.) also took home All-SEC Second Team honors for his performance in the men’s 800m. During the preliminary race, Conrad set a new personal record time of 1:47.45 and propelling him into the top-20 nationally for the event. He followed it up by finishing third in the final with a time just a shade above his first race.
