Mizzou Softball Releases Full 2022 Schedule

NCAA Softball: 4-Seed, No. 15 Mizzou Tigers vs. 5-Seed, No. 14 LSU Tigers

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball released the full 2022 schedule on Friday. The Tigers are coming off a deep run in the postseason after hosting a Regional and Super Regional. Mizzou will look to return to the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2011. Mizzou Softball Stadium will host 25 of the Tigers’ 55 games.

The Tigers will face 15 programs that reached the 2021 NCAA Tournament, including three Women’s College World Series participants. 

Mizzou will open the season in Florida at the Northern Lights Invitational in Leesburg, Florida (Feb. 11-13). Eastern Kentucky, UConn, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, and Liberty will round out the Tigers’ opponents for the weekend.

After traveling to Florida Gulf Coast for a midweek contest (Feb. 16), the Tigers will return to Leesburg, Florida for The Spring Games (Feb. 18-20). Mizzou is schedule to take on South Alabama, North Carolina, Bethune-Cookman, Florida Atlantic, and Maryland in the tournament.

After spending the first two weekends of the season in the Sunshine State, Mizzou will head to the west coast for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 25-27). The Tigers will face Oregon, Texas Tech, San Diego State, Washington, and UCLA.

Mizzou will open the home slate with the Mizzou Classic (Mar. 4-6). The Tigers will play five games against St. Thomas and Bradley for Mizzou Softball Stadium’s opening weekend. The following weekend, SEC play will begin in Columbia with Tennessee coming to town for a three-game series (Mar. 11-13). The Tigers will host the Mizzou Tournament (Mar. 18-20) the following weekend with Ball State, Stanford and Northwestern coming to Mid-Missouri. 

The Tigers will play five midweek games on the season with three at home, one on the road and one at a neutral site. Mizzou’s three home midweek contests will be against Western Illinois (Mar. 23), Kansas City (Apr. 5), and Saint Louis (Apr. 20). The Tigers will play a midweek contest on the road at Kansas (Mar. 30) and at a neutral site against Illinois (Mar. 15). Mizzou’s game against Illinois will be played on the campus of Lindenwood University.

In SEC play, Mizzou will play four home series and four road series. At home, the Tigers will face Tennessee (Mar. 11-13), South Carolina (Apr. 1-3), Georgia (Apr. 14-16), and Texas A&M (Apr. 29-May 1). Mizzou’s four road SEC opponents include Ole Miss (Mar. 25-27), Mississippi State (Apr. 8-10), Kentucky (Apr. 22-24), and Alabama (May 6-8).

The 2022 SEC Softball Tournament will take place in Gainesville, Florida from May 10-14 at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

Game times are subject to change. The broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.

NOTES

Mizzou will face UCLA for the first time since the 2019 NCAA Los Angeles Regional. Current volunteer assistant Madi Norman earned a win against the Bruins to force a decisive game five in Head Coach Larissa Anderson’s debut season with the Tigers.

The Tigers will face a program coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance on opening day for the fourth consecutive season (Eastern Kentucky).

Missouri has not faced Texas Tech since the Tigers moved to the SEC. The Red Raiders represent the sole former Big 12 foe that Mizzou has not seen since departing from the conference.

Of the Tigers’ 55 games, 29 will be against programs that played in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, including 13 games against teams that reached a Super Regional or better.
