Mizzou Soccer’s Morcquess Oliphant Named to SEC Community Service Team

NCAA Women's Soccer: Mizzou Tigers vs. Kentucky Wildcats

COLUMBIA, Mo. – On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference announced the women’s soccer Community Service Team. Morcquess Oliphant represented Mizzou on this year’s team. The SEC sponsors a Community Service Team for each of the 21 sports that the league sponsors. It is intended to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Morcquess Oliphant has exemplified service on the Missouri campus since she arrived. Logging nearly 85 hours of service time, she has particularly served in capacities that utilize her skillset as a Medical Science major. Particularly, Oliphant has spent time volunteering at an Urgent Care Center and a local hospital.

Additionally, Morcquess Oliphant read with children at a local elementary school and with Adventure Club. Adventure Club is an enrichment based before and after school program located in all elementary schools in the Columbia Public School District. It is intended to enhance the development of children socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically.

Oliphant was named to the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Second Team by Diverse Magazine in 2019. She was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in each year she was enrolled at Mizzou. She received her degree this May in Biological Sciences with a focus in Medical Science and Human Biology.
