Mizzou Returns Home Against Texas A&M

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Following a midweek road contest, the University of Missouri men’s basketball team returns home to Mizzou Arena, where the Tigers are 6-2 this season. Mizzou will look to pick up its fifth-straight win at home with Texas A&M (14-2, 3-0 SEC) coming to town. Roy Philpott and Mark Wise have the call for SEC Network with a 2:30 tip, while Mike Kelly and Chris Gervino will have the game on Tiger Radio Network.

MIZZOU HEADLINES

  • Kobe Brown is the Southeastern Conference’s reigning Player of the Week after recording his fifth double-double of the season with 30 points and 13 rebounds against No. 15 Alabama.
  • The last time Mizzou played at home, they defeated the 2020-21 SEC Champions in No. 15 Alabama.
  • It was the Tigers’ first win against a top-25 team this season and marked the third-straight year with a win over a ranked opponent.
  • The Tigers are undefeated this season (6-0) when scoring 70 or more points and are 6-1 when outrebounding their opponents.
  • Mizzou is coming off a tough game on the road against Arkansas where the Razorbacks won 87-43.
  • Trevon Brazile has recorded multiple blocks in six-straight games. With two against Arkansas, the freshman moved into Mizzou’s freshman top-10 single-season blocks list with 18. He is one away from moving into a tie for seventh and six away from passing Tate Decker in sixth.

THE SERIES

  • Texas A&M has a 20-18 advantage in the all-time series, as the matchup is tied 8-8 in Columbia.
  • Mizzou won last years’ meeting with a 14-point victory in College Station, 68-52.
  • The Aggies have won 10 out of the last 13 meetings, however.

SCOUTING TEXAS A&M                                                                                                                

  • With its 14-2 start, the Aggies are off to their best start since 2015-16. The squad is in the midst of a seven-game winning streak, its longest since opening the 2017-18 season.
  • Both of Texas A&M’s losses this season have come at neutral sites against Power 5 opponents, Wisconsin and TCU.
  • Texas A&M is top-10 nationally as a team in both steals per game (10.8) and turnovers forced (18.69).
  • The Aggies have three scorers averaging double-digit numbers, led by Quenton Jackson with 13.2 points per game.
  • As a team, A&M leads the SEC in 3-point shooting at 38.1 percent and are shooting 53.9 percent from the floor against SEC opponents.
  • Tyrece Radford leads the Aggies with 5.6 rebounds while Marcus Williams has a team-high 63 assists.
