Mizzou Looks to Get Back on Track Monday

NCAA MBB: Mizzou Tigers vs. Northern Illinois Huskies

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Before heading on the road later this week, the Mizzou men’s basketball team looks to get back on track Monday with a matchup against Paul Quinn College inside Mizzou Arena. The Tigers will host Paul Quinn for the first time in program history, with the game scheduled to tipoff at 7 p.m. on SECN+.

MIZZOU HEADLINES

  • Amari Davis is coming off a season-high 17 points against Wichita State on Friday. Davis has recorded 14+ points in three-consecutive games and is shooting .464 from the floor this season.
  • Mizzou looks to channel Davis’ scoring power as he enters Monday’s game with a career average of 15.9 points per game, which ranks 25th among all Division 1 players.
  • Kobe Brown is leading the Tigers with a career-best 14.7 scoring average, which includes double-digits in five of the team’s six games this season. Brown’s career-high came against SMU with 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting.
  • The Tigers are 3-0 this season when outrebounding opponents.
  • Mizzou has given up an average of 67 points per game, which includes holding Northern Illinois to just 37 points earlier this season. The 37 points are the fewest any SEC team has given up this season.

SCOUTING PAUL QUINN COLLEGE

  • Monday is the first time the two programs will meet.
  • Monday’s contest counts as an exhibition for Paul Quinn, who plays in the Red River Conference in NAIA.
  • Paul Quinn has played three-straight games against Division 1 opponents, most recently dropping a 69-42 contest against Tarleton State.
  • The Tigers return nine letter winners from their 2020-21 team, who did not compete due to COVID-19.
  • Ja’Mare Redus is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 11 points per game on 38.2 percent shooting. 

UP NEXT

Mizzou will travel for its first true road game of the 2021-22 season, Dec. 2 as they take on Liberty. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
