COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri men’s basketball has officially announced the addition of Northern Iowa transfer, Noah Carter, to its 2022-23 roster.

Carter comes to Mizzou following a standout three seasons at Northern Iowa, where he capped it off with a Second Team All-MVC honor in 2021-22. Carter will have two remaining seasons of eligibility entering the 22-23 season.

“Noah is a tremendous addition to our program,” Whitten Family Head Coach Dennis Gates said. “He has been associated with winning programs throughout his basketball career and his ability to produce offense in a variety of ways will help us immediately on the court. Noah is also a standout student in the classroom and community who will continue to add value to our team.”

Carter played in all 32 games, including 21 starts for the Panthers in 2021-22. He averaged 15.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while contributing 58 assists, 19 steals and 12 blocks. Carter was the Panthers second-leading scorer, behind Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, A.J. Green. He shot 48.1 percent from the field and 79.4 from the free throw line.

“I chose Mizzou because it felt like home and it felt like where God wanted me,” Carter said. “Mizzou stood out to me because I wanted to be a part of the change. Coach Gates was a huge part of that, I truly felt like he wants what is best for me and my family. The entire coaching staff is amazing and I know we are ready to win in Columbia.”

Carter has averaged 10.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in his three seasons at Northern Iowa, more than tripling his freshman year production. A Dubuque, Iowa native, Carter was a four-year varsity player at Dubuque Senior where he earned multiple All-State honors.
