Mizzou Baseball Summer League Update II

Collegiate summer ball is moving into its second half and a host of Mizzou players are in action. Headlining this update are three Appalachian League All-Stars, an Appy League Player of the Week and a few new faces joining the summer fray.

*This update only includes players who have competed since the previous update on June 21*

APPALACHIAN LEAGUE

  • Tre Morris – Princeton WhistlePigs
    • Hitting .291 over 30 games played
    • Eight doubles, two home runs and 20 RBI
    • Earned Appy League Player of the Week honors (7/12-18) after slashing .375/.423/750 with two homers, one a walk-off, and 10 RBI
  • Austin Troesser – Greeneville Flyboys
    • 4-0 with a 0.90 ERA in 20 innings
    • 35 strikeouts to just six walks while holding opponents to a .145 batting average
    • Appy League All-Star
  • Trevor Austin – Greeneville Flyboys
    • .411 on-base percentage
    • Three doubles, three triples and a home run along with 14 RBI and 20 runs scored in 25 games
  • Ross Lovich – Pulaski River Turtles
    • Leads River Turtles in quality at-bats and has seven doubles, six triples and four home runs to slug .516
    • Walk-off double in Sunday win to cap 2-for-4, 2 RBI night
    • Appy League All-Star
  • Garrett Rice – Pulaski River Turtles
    • Tied for fourth in the league with five home runs and fifth with 27 RBI
    • Batting .282 on the season while adding five doubles
  • Jackson Beaman – Pulaski River Turtles
    • Batting .257 with eight doubles, a triple and three home runs
    • 21 RBI in 29 games played
    • Appy League All-Star
  • CJ Cepicky – Danville OtterBots
    • Reaching at a .395 clip and leads the team with 21 walks
  • Brenner Maloney – Danville OtterBots
    • 34 strikeouts in 18.1 IP
    • Holding opponents to a .179 batting average

CALIFORNIA COLLEGIATE LEAGUE

  • Torin Montgomery – Healdsburg Prune Packers
    • Batting .273 with five doubles, three triples and five home runs
    • Leads team and ranks third in the CCL with 30 RBI

CAPE COD LEAGUE

  • Spencer Miles – Wareham Gatemen
    • Worked to a 2.54 ERA in 17.2 IP
    • Racked up 24 strikeouts
  • Luke Mann – Hyannis Harbor Hawks
    • Batting .262 with three home runs and two doubles
    • Leads team and is tied for third in the Cape with 16 RBI
  • Trae Robertson – Hyannis Harbor Hawks
    • Worked 3.1 innings in three games while striking out a pair

COASTAL PLAIN LEAGUE

  • Jacob Kush – Holly Springs Salamanders
    • 2.42 ERA in 29.2 innings of work
    • Struck out 29 batters while issuing just eight walks
  • Ty Wilmsmeyer – High Point-Thomasville HiToms
    • Posted six RBI in 15 games played
    • Hit walk-off, three-run homer on June 27
  • Mike Coletta – Holly Springs Salamanders
    • Made first appearance on July 14 after recovering from injury suffered at end of season
    • Picked up an RBI in his second game player

MLB DRAFT LEAGUE

  • Drew Garrett – State College Spikes
    • 2-2 in 16 appearances out of the bullpen
    • .135 opposing batting average

NORTHWOODS

  • Ben Pedersen – Duluth Huskies
    • 1-1 in six games pitched with 26.0 innings of work

PROSPECT LEAGUE

  • Dalton McNamara – Cape Catfish
    • 10 hits in 11 games played
    • Two doubles and nine runs scored
  • Kyle Potthoff – Cape Catfish
    • Second on team with 44.1 IP
    • Third on club with 36 strikeouts
