Men’s Indoor Track & Field Competes at Redhawks Invitational

Cape Giarardeau, Mo. – (Full Results) The Columbia College men’s indoor track & field team competed in their first meet of 2022, traveling to Cape Girardeau, Mo. to talk part in the 2022 Redhawks Invitational. CC accumulated 35 points to take third-place in a field that featured two NCAA DI programs and two other NAIA programs. 

The Cougars received 11.25 points from Ethan Phillips who finished 1st in the triple jump, third in the 4X400-meter relay, 7th in the long jump and 19th in the 55-meter dash. He set new personal records in the 55-meter dash and long jump. 

Zane Torreyson scored six points, placing 4th in the shot put and 6th in the weight throw. His performance in the weight throw is a new personal record. 

Also tallying six points was Gavin Frantz. Frantz finished 5th in both the shot put and weight throw, setting a new personal-best in the weight throw. 

The Cougars set four new personal records in the 55-meter dash (Trevor Bailey, Malachi Jackson, Grant Adkins, and Ethan Phillips), three personal bests in the weight throw (Zane Torreyson, Gavin Frantz, and Sam Markey), and a season-best in the 4X400-meter relay. 

In total, CC had 11 new personal records.
