Men’s Golf Places Thrid at Virginia McCoy Invite

Kansas City, Mo. – (ResultsThe Columbia College men’s golf team finished third out of 10 teams in their final tournament of the fall season. 

The Cougars shot a 605 (310-295) to take third. Bethany (Kan.) finished first with a 600 (303-297), while Morningside (Iowa) carded a 315-287–602 for second place. Bethany is currently receiving votes in the latest NAIA Men’s Golf Coaches’ Poll, while Morningside is No. 13. 

Columbia beat two teams that are ranked or receiving votes – No. 21 Missouri Valley shot a 311-299–610 and finished a spot behind CC and Mount Mercy (Iowa) placed seventh with a 324-300–624. 

Cameron Vanleer led the way for CC individually, carding a 75-71–146 (+4) and placing second. Noah Wilson added a top-10 finish with a 81-70–151 (+9) which was good enough for a seventh place finish.
