Men’s Golf Impresses at NAIA Memphis Shootout

Memphis, Tenn. – (Results: Individual | TeamThe (RV) men’s golf team had an impressive showing at the NAIA Memphis Shootout. The three-round tournament was hosted at TPC Southwind.

The field included seven teams that were ranked or receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches’ Poll – (8) Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), (17) Tennessee Southern, (18) Truett McConnell (Ga.), (19) Southwestern Christian (Okla.), (RV) Columbia (Mo.), (RV) Marian (Ind.), and (RV) Kansas Wesleyan.

The Cougars finished in a tie for third-place after shooting a 296 in the final round to go along with a 312 in round one and a round two score of 308.

Columbia started the final round in sixth-place before climbing three spots on the team leaderboard.

The Cougars defeated three ranked or receiving votes teams – Lindsey Wilson, Tennessee Southern, and Kansas Wesleyan.

Individually, Cameron Vanleer led the way with a 76-76-73—225 and finished in a tie for fifth-place. Vanleer entered the final 18 holes in ninth-place. Noah Wilson added a top-ten finish with a 228 (83-73-72), jumping up 14 spots in the final round.
