Keke Chism Honored by Earl Campbell Award

Chism, Keke

Columbia, Mo. – Announced earlier this week, Mizzou’s Keke Chism was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List, recognizing the top offensive player in Division I football who meets one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas, graduated from a Texas high school, played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year college.

The ninth annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List is presented by the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and SPORTyler.

Additionally, nominees must also exhibit the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

A native of Daingerfield, Texas, Chism will use his final year of eligibility – at wide receiver – in 2021. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Angelo State in spring 2019. He’s currently pursuing a master’s degree in positive coaching from the University of Missouri.

In 2020, his first season as a Tiger, Chism posted team-bests of 35 catches and 458 yards. He recorded 5+ receptions in five of the last six games, totaling 31 catches and 394 yards (65.7 ypg) over the last six games.

With his six receptions for 113 yards vs. Arkansas (12/5/20), Chism was the first Mizzou receiver with 100 receiving yards in a game since Oct. 12, 2019. During his three years at Division-II Angelo State, he amassed 2,221 career receiving yards (sixth in program history) and nine 100-yard receiving yard games.
