Hu, Moore Named WCGA All-Americans

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri gymnasts Jocelyn Moore and Helen Hu were named Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Regular Season All-Americans, the organization announced on Thursday, March 23. Moore claimed first team honors on vault, while Hu claimed second team honors on beam.

Regular season All-Americans are determined by National Qualifying Score (NQS) rankings. The top eight gymnasts (including ties) in each event and the all-around earn first team honors, while the next eight are named to the second team.

Moore currently ranks fifth on vault with an NQS of 9.940. Overall, she totaled six scores of 9.900 or higher and five scores of 9.925 or better on vault in 11 meets this year, including a 10.0. This is the sophomore’s second consecutive first team accolade on vault. 

Over the course of the 2023 season, Moore has won 10 event titles, with seven on vault, one on bars and two on floor. In addition to her vault NQS, Moore also carries an NQS of 9.90, thanks to a career-best of 9.975 on floor.

Hu currently ranks tied for ninth on beam with an NQS of 9.945. Overall, she totaled seven scores of 9.95 or higher and five scores of 9.95 or better on beam in 11 meets this year, including tying her career-high 9.975.

Over the course of the 2023 season, Hu has won six event titles, with four on beam and two on bars. In addition to her beam NQS, Hu also carries NQSs of 9.91 on bars thanks to a season-best 9.95.

Moore, Hu and the No. 14 Mizzou gymnastics team will compete in the second session of the NCAA Los Angeles Regional Second Round on Thursday, March 30 at 9 p.m. CT.
