Four Tigers Named to Senior Bowl Watch List

Columbia, Mo. – Four members of the Mizzou football program – running back Tyler Badie, defensive lineman Akial Byers, cornerback Akayleb Evans and defensive lineman Kobie Whiteside – were named to the Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List, it was announced on Thursday.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is the nation’s most prestigious college all-star game, as it annually serves as the first step of the NFL Draft process. This year’s game will be held February 5, 2022 and will air live on NFL Network. Practices are live on ESPN with NFL Network producing a daily recap show airing in primetime.

Badie ranked second among all Tigers in touchdowns (six), rushing (242 yards) and all-purpose yards (738 yards / 73.8 ypg) in 2020. He was the only Tiger to catch a pass in every single game in 2020 and has caught a pass in 22 of his last 23 games. He’s also a member of the following watch lists: Doak Walker Award, AFCA Good Works Team, Wuerffel Trophy, Paul Hornung Award.

Byers has made 10 career starts while playing in 40 career games. He’s totaled 56 tackles, 6.0 tackles for a loss of 13 yards, two passes broken up, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Evans has two seasons to play at Mizzou after transferring this summer from the University of Tulsa. He’s played in 20 career games, totaling 82 career tackles and 11 passes broken up.

Whiteside’s 2020 best came against Mississippi State (12/19/20) when he had four tackles and a fumble recovery. He totaled three tackles against No. 2 Alabama (9/26/20) in the season opener. He missed five of 2020’s 10 games because of injury.
