FULTON, Mo. – The No. 23-ranked Columbia College men’s soccer team earned their third conference win of the season, notching a 2-0 final against William Woods (Mo.) this evening.
The Cougars improve to 7-3-4 on the season, and 3-1-1 in AMC action.
Freshman, Cooper Allen gave the Cougars their first goal of the night in the 20th minute of play and the only goal of the half, putting Columbia up 1-0. Allen’s goal represented his second of the year coming in back-to-back contests.
Each squad had four shots in the opening half, along with one save from each of the goalkeepers.
In the 63rd minute, Columbia’s Miguel Gonzalez added his first goal in the Cougar uniform, leading Columbia to a 2-0 victory.
Columbia and William Woods had seven total shots and five corner kicks apiece during the match.
Alejandro Molto Munoz collected his fifth win of the season, and 5-2-3 on the season.
The Cougars look to continue success against Central Baptist (Ark.) on October 21 at 3:00 p.m.
