Connor Bazelak Honored by Johnny Unitas Award

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Redshirt sophomore quarterback Connor Bazelak earned a spot on the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List, annually recognizing the top senior or upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class.

Bazelak is 6-3 as a starter for the Tigers. He threw for 200+ yards in eight of 10 appearances in 2020. He was named the 2020 SEC Co-Freshman of the Year in a vote by the league’s coaches and also earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team. Also named to the Davey O’Brien Award Watch List, he was the SEC Freshman of the Week three times in 2020. 

He had a career game in the win over No. 17/16 LSU (10/10/20), going 29-of-34 for 406 yards and four touchdowns, and was named the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week and a Manning Award Star of the Week following the win. Bazelak went 32-of-49 for 380 yards vs. Arkansas (12/5/20) and masterfully crafted a fourth-quarter drive which set up the game-winning field goal.
