Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College lacrosse team tied a program record for goals scored in a single game as they rolled the Spires of the University of Saint Mary tonight in KCAC action. With the win, the Cougars improve to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play. USM falls to 0-5 overall and 0-5 in the KCAC.
Columbia scored barely over a minute into the game to set the tone early as they would score seven in the first, four in the second, eight in the third, and four in the fourth to beat the Spires 23-4. The 23 goals scored ties the program record for most goals scored in a game that was first set in 2018 against Central Christian (Kansas). Further, 16 team assists also ties the program record that was set last season, 2022, against USM.
Columbia is 6-0 all time against the University of Saint Mary; this marked the largest deficit that CC has defeated USM as the Cougars won by 19.
