Columbia Sends Two to NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Kansas City, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the qualifiers for the 2021 NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, which takes place in Gulf Shores, Ala. on May 26-28.

The Cougars had two athletes qualify for the championships – Hannah Ricketts and Mikayla Sehlmeyer

Ricketts, a native of Hallsville, Mo., qualified in the hammer throw with a distance of 50.39-meters (“B” standard) achieved at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite. Ricketts is No. 19 in the event and will compete on Wednesday, May 26, at 2:00 p.m. This event is finals only.

Sehlmeyer, from Albuquerque, N.M., qualified by hitting the “B” standard” in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 38:11.56 that she ran at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite. Sehlmeyer is ranked 23rd in the event which is ran on Wednesday, May 26, at 9:30 p.m. This event is finals only.
