Bonus Points Lead No. 10 Wrestling to 36-9 Win Over Air Force

USAFA, Colo. – The No. 10-ranked University of Missouri wrestling team defeated Air Force in Colorado 36-9 Friday, Jan. 13. The win is the first by Mizzou at the academy in its first visit.

Sophomore Noah Surtin started the Tigers off at 125 pounds with his second consecutive technical fall, 16-0. Mizzou followed with three-straight major decisions by redshirt senior Connor Brown at 133 pounds, classmate Allan Hart at 141 pounds and redshirt junior Brock Mauller at 149 pounds.

Both sophomore Keegan O’Toole (21-5) and redshirt junior Peyton Mocco (20-5) grabbed technical falls at 165 and 174, respectively. Sophomore Colton Hawks had the match of the night, getting the fall at 184 pounds as the Tigers sealed the conference road win.

MATCH NOTES

• Mizzou moves to 2-0 all-time against Air Force and earns its first win in USAFA, Colo.
• Surtin earns his second consecutive technical fall, pushing his bonus point rate to 69.2.
• Hawks earns the fall at 184 pounds, his first in a dual this season and second overall.
• Mizzou’s seven wins by bonus points is the most since the season-opener against Lindenwood, Nov. 6.

UP NEXT

The Tigers remain on the road to take on the State of Oklahoma. Mizzou is scheduled to challenge the Oklahoma Sooners Friday, Feb. 3, before matching up with No. 13 Oklahoma State Sunday, Feb. 5. The duals are slated for 7 p.m. CT and 2 p.m. CT, respectively.
