Baseball Drops Game Against Bryan

Upland, Ind. – The Columbia College Baseball team dropped its first game of the 2022 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round on Monday.

The Scoring:

  • T2 (BC): The Lions scored eight times in the second inning (BC 8, CC 0)
  • T3 (BC): Bryan added three more runs (BC 11, CC 0)
  • T5 (BC): Two runs increased the Lions lead (BC 13, CC 0)
  • B5 (CC): David Dell got the Cougars on the board with a solo home run (BC 13, CC 1)
  • B6 (CC): Columbia added four runs in their half of the sixth, with two coming in off an infield single from Dell (BC 13, CC 5)
  • B7 (CC): The Cougars kept chipping away, as they scored four runs in the seventh (BC 13, CC 9)
  • T9 (BC): A pair of runs in the ninth inning gave the Lions the win (BC 15, CC 9)

 
Inside the Box:

  • David Dell led the Cougar offense with three hits, two RBIs, two runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base.
  • Braden Desonia, Devyn Lopez, Dell, and Riley Poulton added two hits each.
  • Desonia, Ficken, and Dell drove in two apiece.
  • Columbia had 12 hits in the game.
