With Heavy Hearts, Chiefs defeat Panthers

One day after unspeakable actions affected the team, the KC Chiefs found a way to win against the Carolina Panthers.

Kansas City trailed for part of the second quarter, but a touchdown to end the first half helped propel the Chiefs to a 27-21 victory just hours after the suicide of LB Jovan Belcher.

Jamaal Charles, whose wife introduced Belcher to his late girlfriend, had his best game of the season, rushing for 127 yards on 27 carries.  Brady Quinn had 201 yards on 19/23 passing with 2 TD’s in the game.

It’s the second victory of the season for the Chiefs and their first at Arrowhead.  They’re now 2-10 on the year and head to Cleveland for a game against the Browns next Sunday at noon.
