Jayson Werth ended a 13-pitch at-bat with Lance Lynn with a game-ending home run to give the Washington Nationals a 2-1 win in Game Four of the National League Division Series.

Werth ended the pitcher’s duel with his 14th career postseason home run, tying him for 9th all time and Washington forced a winner-take-all Game Five. The Nats scored their first run on a solo home run by Adam LaRoche in the second inning.

St. Louis immediately responded to tie it at one with a sacrifice fly from Carlos Beltran in the third. Eight of the final nine Cardinals outs came via strikeouts from the Nationals bullpen.
