Dayan Viciedo hit a fourth-inning grand slam to cap a five-run inning as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals, 5-2.
Adam Dunn singled home Alexi Ramirez to start the frame, with Paul Konerko and Conor Gillaspie singling ahead of the Viciedo slam. Mike Moustakas and David Lough drove in runs for KC in the losing effort.
The one inning was the lone setback for Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie, who dropped to 12 and 10 on the year.
The Royals try to salvage the final game of the three game series with James Shields facing Jose Quintana at 7:10 PM.
