Tigers stunned by Syracuse

Mizzou got out to a hot start and led late, but saw a late surge by the Orange.

Syracuse used a TD pass from Ryan Nassib to Alec Lemon with 20 seconds remaining to snatch a 31-27 victory over Mizzou.

Missouri struck first, with Dorial Green-Beckham taking a tunnel screen from James Franklin 70 yards and a TD.  Green-Beckham had 2 catches for 79 yards in the game.

A game that was 17-10 at halftime became a field position game for the 3rd quarter.  with 46 seconds gone in the 4th quarter, Nassib found Lemon for their first TD connection of the night to tie the game at 17.  Kendial Lawrence would add a TD and Andrew Baggett kicked a 45 yard FG to put the Tigers up 27-24.

Mizzou starting QB James Franklin missed much of the 4th quarter after being hit in the head.  Before having to leave the game, Franklin was 17/23 for 279 yards and 2 TD’s.  Corbin Berkstresser entered the game and was 4/8 for 85 yards.  Kendial Lawrence had 119 yards and a TD run.

Missouri falls to 5-6 on the season after the loss.  They have one more game remaining next Saturday at 6pm in College Station, TX against the Texas A&M Aggies.  Coverage begins at 3pm with Tiger Gameday presented by Tucker’s Fine Jewelry live from J Pfenny’s in Jefferson City.  Kickoff comes your way at 6pm on your home for Mizzou athletics, ESPN 100.5 and your total sports station 103.1 KTGR.
