Tigers’ Season Ends in Lexington
Missouri saw their season come to an end Thursday evening in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
Missouri got off to a slow start once again and the Colorado State Rams dominated the glas on their way to an 84-72 win in NCAA tournament action. Missouri finishes the season 23-11.
Missouri had a familiar start to their game, finding themselves down 20-9 nearly seven and a half minutes into the first half. They rallied to cut the deficit to 9 at halftime, 47-38, and even got as close as four early in the second half, but could get over the hump. Colorado State obliterated the Tigers on the glass, winning the rebounding battle 42-19.
Missouri was led in scoring by Phil Pressey who had 20 points and was one of four Tigers in double figures for the game. Alex Oriakhi had another impressive performance, going 6-6 from the field and 4-4 at the line to score 16 points in his final game as a Tiger. Jabari Brown had 14 and Earnest Ross had 11 for the Tigers as well. Lawrence Bowers, playing in his final game at Mizzou, tied with Tony Criswell for the rebounding lead with 4. Phil Pressey led the team with 7 assists.
Missouri finishes an up and down 2012-2013 season at 23-11. They finished 6th in the SEC and made it to their 5th consecutive NCAA tournament.
