Mizzou shook off their most recent weather cancellation to pick up another win Tuesday evening.The Tigers used a 7 run second inning to down the Jackson State Tigers 9-3.
In the second inning, Mizzou got RBI’s from Scott Sommerfeld, Mike McGraw, Dane Opel, Kendal Keeton, and Dillon Everett, as well as two unearned runs, to go ahead 7-0. They added two more unearned runs in an error filled game to make the score 9-1 after three innings.
Freshman Alec Rash continued his strong start to 2013 with 4 solid innings and one hit and an unearned run in his outing. He also struck out 7 on the day. He picked up the win, the first of his Tiger career and is 1-1 on the season. Jace James, Keaton Steele, and Jake Walsh combined to finish the final 5 innings of the games and secure the win for the Tigers.
Missouri improves to 4-7 on the season and will be back on Simmons Field Wednesday afternoon when they welcome Truman State to Taylor Stadium. First pitch is at 4pm and pregame begins at 345pm on your home for the Tigers, ESPN 100.5 and Total Sports Station 103.1 KTGR.
