There seems to be something preventing Missouri from that elusive and convincing road win.

Missouri led late in historic Rupp Arena but couldn’t seal the deal in overtime as the Tigers fell to the Kentucky Wildcats 90-83 in Overtime Saturday night.

It was a back and forth contest for much of the second half between the two teams with the most turnover from last season.  After the Tigers led at halftime 35-31, Kentucky took the lead early after the break.  However, Missouri was not to be denied in the game, forcing the game into the extra period on two late free throws by Tony Criswell.  Missouri grabbed it’s last lead of the game on a Phil Pressey jumper from the free throw line with a little less than 2 minutes expired in overtime.  Kentucky would seal the game at the charity stripe, hitting 9 of their 10 FT shots in extra time.

Missouri was led in scoring by Phil Pressey who scored 27 points on 12 of 24 shooting.  He was one of three Tigers in double figures for the game.  Alex Oriakhi had 16 points while Lawrence Bowers had 13.  Pressey and Oriakhi each had double doubles with Oriakhi having 15 rebounds while Pressey had 10 assists.

Missouri is now 19-8 on the season and 8-6 in SEC play.  They’ll get a few days off before headed to the other Columbia in the SEC.  They’re in Columbia, SC to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks Thursday night at 8pm.  Pregame comes your way at 7:30pm on your home for the Missouri Tigers, ESPN 100.5 and total sports station 103.1 KTGR.
