College Basketball kicked off it’s 2012-2013 season this weekend and Mizzou joined in on the fun Saturday Afternoon.Kicking off coach Frank Haith’s second season, the Tigers defeated the SIU-Edwardsville Cougars 83-69.
Lawrence Bowers, playing in his first game in over a year, led all scorers with 20 points. Phil Pressey and Negus Webster-Chan joined Bowers in double figures, scoring 19 and 11 points respectively. Pressey led the team with 9 assists and Alex Oriakhi picking up 15 rebounds.
The Cougars had 3 players in double figures, led by Jerome Jones with 17.
Missouri takes the court in their opening game of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament this Tuesday as they host Alcorn State at 7pm. We’ll have coverage beginning at 6:30pm on your home for Mizzou Basketball, ESPN 100.5 KTGR and Total Sports Station 103.1.
