Five first-inning runs from the Kansas City Royals gave them a 7-4 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.
Despite allowing a solo home run to Joe Mauer in the top of the first, the Royals struck with doubles from Billy Butler and Salvador Perez, run-scoring singles from Mike Moustakas and Lorenzo Cain and an RBI-groundout from Eric Hosmer.
Jeremy Guthrie settled down after allowing four runs through six and two-thirds innings, and earned his second win. Greg Holland loaded the bases in ninth but finally shut the door for his second save.
The Royals go for the sweep Wednesday night at 7:10 PM with Wade Davis on the hill.
