Alex Gordon drove in two runs and the Kansas City Royals won their 11th game in the month of June, taking the four-game series with a 5-3 Sunday win.
Jeff Francoeur knotted the game up at two with his fifth-inning homer and Alcides Escobar drove in the go-ahead run an inning later. Gordon’s first RBI extended the lead in the sixth.
Wade Davis hung tough to defeat his former team with a six-inning performance and four strikeouts for his fourth win. Greg Holland picked up save number 14 despite allowing a run in the ninth.
