The Royals added veteran depth to their 40 man roster Saturday afternoon.
The Kansas City Royals announced Saturday they’ve agreed to a Minor League contract with Xavier Nady. Nady spent 2011 with the Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants.
Nady is an 11 year MLB veteran with stops in 8 major league cities in his career. He’s a career .270 hitter with 101 HRs and 406RBI’s in his career as well. Last year, he batted .184 in 59 games.
Nady’s signing comes on the heels of a busy week for the Royals. Earlier in the week, Kansas City signed Willy Taveras, George Sherrill, and Dan Wheeler to Minor League deals as well.
