Kansas City was the unfortunate victim of R.A. Dickey finding his groove. Kansas City was unable to solve the knuckleball, falling 3-2 to the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday evening.
Kansas City was able to bang out 5 hits off the Blue Jays starter, but managed just one run, a 7th inning bunt single for Chris Getz drove in Jarrod Dyson, but it wasn’t enough. In the 9th, Getz scored on an Alex Gordon single.
James Shields took the loss for KC, despite pitching a complete game and allowing only 2 hits. He falls to 1-2 on the season.
Kansas City is now in a tie for first place in the AL Central with the Detroit Tigers at 6-5 on the year. They’ll look to salvage a game against Toronto when they send Ervin Santana to the mound at 1:10pm.
