The Cleveland Indians scored in the sixth, seventh and eighth to turn a one-run deficit into a 5-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals.
The Royals took the lead in the second on back-to-back homers by Salvador Perez and Mike Moustakas, but were quickly equalized by a two-run triple by Michael Bourn in the bottom half.
Moustakas continued his hot hitting with a fifth-inning RBI single to grab a 3-2 lead for KC.
The wheels came off for the Royals beginning in the sixth when Salvador Perez and Jarrod Dyson each committed errors on a Michael Brantley steal, allowing him to score all the way from first on one play. The Indians took the lead on a Jason Kipnis double in the seventh and padded the lead with a Lonnie Chisenhall single in the eighth.
Kansas City will try for the split with Bruce Chen facing Corey Kluber tomorrow at 11:05 AM CT.
