The Kansas City Royals have traded AAA Omaha LHP Brandon Sisk to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange for former American League All-Star Ervin Santana.
Santana, who won 17 games in 2010, tries to resurrect his career with the Royals after going 9-13 this past season with LA. The 30-year-old from the Dominican Republic finished sixth in American League Cy Young voting in 2008 after going 16-7 with a 3.49 ERA.
Sisk, 27, played one season at Frawley Stadium, leading the team with 21 saves in 45 relief appearances. The 2008 Minor League Free Agent settled into a left-handed specialist role with Omaha, appearing in 50 games with 3-2 record and 2.54 ERA. He has yet to make his Major League debut.
