The Missouri football team has made an SEC steal, poaching wide receivers coach Pat Washington away from Kentucky to take the same position at Mizzou.
In addition to serving on the staff of Joker Phillips last season in Kentucky, Washington has guided receivers in Tennessee, Mississippi State and Kansas State, among others. Washington played and was a graduate assistant at Auburn in the mid-’80s.
His 10 years with the volunteers produced pro prospects such as Peerless Price, Donte’ Stallworth and Robert Meacham. Washington takes over for Andy Hill, who moved to QBs coach after the departure of David Yost and promotion of Josh Henson to Offensive Coordinator.
Yost is reportedly close to landing the Offensive Coordinator position under Mike Leach at Washington State.
