ESPN.com’s Brett McMurphy is reporting the SEC is on the verge of awarding St. Louis the 2017 Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Reports earlier this week suggested that Nashville was to become the primary tournament host, with other sites filling in different years.

Nashville hosted last year and will host again in 2015, 2016 in 2019. Next year’s tournament is at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Organizers would target the Scottrade Center as the site, despite the arena’s involvement in the Arch Madness Missouri Valley Conference Tournament scheduled for the weekend before the SEC Tournament.
