Adam Wainwright allowed six runs in as many innings to the Cincinnati Reds as they beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-2 Monday afternoon.
Ryan Ludwick put the Reds on the board in the first and they didn’t look back in the second following an RBI-single from Zack Cozart and a two-run home run from Shin-Soo Choo.
Mat Latos threw a complete-game, striking out two and throwing exactly 100 pitches. Latos won for the third time this season over the Redbirds, while Wainwright lost for the third time to Cincinnati in 2013.
St. Louis and Cincinnati meet for game two of four Tuesday night, with coverage on KTGR at 5:10 PM.
