Now that they knew they were headed to the postseason, the Mizzou women’s basketball team set out to improve their standing in the conference.Mizzou flipped a 12-11 deficit with a 17-0 run to take command of their game against the Alabama Crimson Tide on their way to an 88-64 win Sunday afternoon to complete their first regular season in the SEC.
The 17-0 run for the Tigers put them up 26-12 and never led by fewer than double digits for the remainder of the game. Early in the second half, the Tigers set a new SEC record for most 3 pointers made in one season when Morgan Eye hit her 3rd triple of the game. It gave the Tigers 253 made shots from behind the arc this season and with the shot, Eye tied the all time single season record for made 3’s in a season by a single player with her 108th 3 of the season.
Picked to finish 14th in the SEC this season, Mizzou will finish the season in a tie for 8th place, but due to W/L record against the two teams they tied with (lost to Arkansas, beat Florida) , Mizzou will be seeded 10th in the upcoming SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament.
