Rams Release Dunbar
The St. Louis Rams have released suspended LB Jo-Lonn Dunbar, despite him being projected as a starter once his suspension would have concluded.
Dunbar fell victim to the NFL’s four-game penalty for using performance-enhancing drugs, a move that coach Jeff Fisher tabbed “selfish”. Will Witherspoon, a 12-year veteran in his second tour of duty with the Rams is expected to fill the starting outside linebacker role vacated by Dunbar. The other spot will be filled by Witherspoon’s alma mater mate Alec Ogletree, the rookie out of Georgia
Fisher did claim Wednesday that Dunbar could return to the Rams after serving his ban at a lesser price, to give the Rams some much-needed salary cap space.
